"Fiddlers, Fairies and Freaks"
Fiddlers, Fairies, and Freaks was an evening of one act plays, and
monologues written by Jason Nunes that explored the ways in which so
called "normal life" is not all that different from a carnival
freak show. The hour and a half long program consisted of four 15 minute
one acts, and three monologues 5-10 minutes in length, which touched
on such diverse topics as the connections shared by two strangers riding
on an interstate bus, to a confession by a guilt ridden, and murderous
Tooth Fairy sitting on death row. As one critic wrote: "I've had
little flashbacks today, not of a dark room with black walls and actors...
somewhere, recently, I must have caught a televised interview with a
'Sing Sing' inmate, been a fly on the wall of a ladies room, and eavesdropped
on a conversation during a bus ride through the New England Autumn."
Fiddlers, Fairies, and Freaks ended it's first run Sunday February
1st, 2004.
