Marta
made her theatrical directorial debut with And Then There Was
Seven, which was a finalist in an evening of one-acts at the SwampKing
Festival. Her short film Invisible Me, screened at OCULARIS, the
Anthology New Filmmaker Series, and the Chicks with Flicks film
festival at the Pioneer Theater. She is currently in post-production
on her short film Bad Behavior (shot this past fall), which is
based on a feature screenplay that was a finalist at the 2003
Sundance Screenwriters Lab.
While living in New York, Marta has worked as a video editor
and producer at Columbia University's Office of Public Affairs
and more recently as the mentorship coordinator for emerging filmmakers
from under-represented communities at the Independent Feature
Project.
Marta studied Fine Arts at Carnegie Mellon University with a
concentration in photography and installation art. After graduating
she completed a technical internship at PBS and soon after began
working as a production assistant and then coordinator on various
feature films such as Ric Roman Waugh's "In the Shadows,"
Michael Mann's "Ali," and Barry Sonnenfeld's "Big
Trouble" & "Men in Black 2."
